History of the present
The modern Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine consists of seven dioceses that are part of the Archdiocese of Lviv: the Archdiocese of Lviv and the Dioceses of Kyiv-Zhytomyr, Kamianets-Podilskyi, Lutsk, Mukachevo, Odesa-Simferopol, and Kharkiv-Zaporizhzhia.
Our Kyiv-Zhytomyr Diocese covers the territory of four regions of the country (Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv) and spans an area of 222,300 km².
The bishop's residence is in the city of Kyiv, at St. Alexander’s Cathedral.
